Madeira Nature Festival

The Nature Festival is the celebration of the extensive and rich natural heritage of Madeira, and is also the celebration of its state of conservation and preservation.

More than 20% of the island is covered by the Laurissilva forest, a millennial forest that since 1992 has been incorporated in the Biogenéticas reservation network of the European Council.

The event will take place between 6 and 11 October and the event program promotes and encourages a greater contact with the natural attractions of the island: the sea, the Laurissilva forest and the peaks of Madeira. The proposed programme is based on sports activities in nature, entertainment, ethnography and culture of Madeira.

The challenges are for all ages and may range from levada (water channels) walks, to canyoning trails, to swimming in the ocean, to climbing, to surfing, to mountaineering and much, much more... This festival takes locals and visitors to the most beautiful natural places on the island.

Come take part of this nature during the week that inaugurates autumn. The climate at this time of the year is still very favourable with excellent temperatures both on land or at sea.
